Jammu, Aug 22: A villager was today washed away in flash floods triggered by heavy rains in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.





50-year-old Anwar Hussain was swept away by the flash floods in Patrada area of the district, officials said, adding that his body was later recovered.

Seven other persons were rescued from the deluge in Samba, Kathua and Jammu districts of the state, they said.  

In another incident, one person was killed and two others were injured when their house collapsed due to heavy rains in Poonch and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir.  

Tariq, a student, was killed and two others, Mohmmad Zabi and Abdul Gani, were injured when their house collapsed in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district last night.  

Four houses also collapsed in Kathua district's Bilawar belt today in which two persons were injured, police said.  

Two more houses collapsed in Reasi district's Mahore belt, but no one was injured, they added.
