Mumbai: Mumbai airport's swanky international Terminal 2 completed its one year of operation on Thursday. This year, the domestic flights will also be moved to the terminal hence integrating the operations.

At present, T2 houses only international passenger flights for 43 airlines across 46 destinations.

In January, Tata-Signapore Airlines' Vistara was the first carrier to begin domestic operations from the terminal.

According to a report published in Times of India, an official told the daily, “Other carriers are expected to move their domestic operations to T2 by the end of this year.”

He also said, “The switch will be carried out in a phase-wise manner from mid-2015 onwards.”

The terminal is known for its art project spread across all its levels with 7000 artifacts, a 3-Km long art wall and works by over 1500 artists.

Another remarkable feature of the place is that there are no separate lounges for each airline.

Rather it has a common luxury lounge spread across 30,000 sq ft for first and business-class passengers.

The terminal is expected to handle 50 million flyers by 2019 which can be termed as an estimated growth of 11%.
