New Delhi, Aug 3: The huge rock that stopped the Bhagirathi flood from devastating the famous Kedarnath temple will be preserved as it is worth worshipping, Uttarakhand chief minister Vijay Bahuguna has said.He was replying

The chief minister said, all cheques for compensation will be sent to the chief secretaries of respective states, who will pass them on to the local district collector to be handed over to the next of kin.





Bahuguna appealed to the kin of all those missing and presumed dead, to file details with their respective collectors and chief secretaries, so that they could forward them to the Uttarakhand government for compensation.

The chief minister said, the Finance Ministry has assured that the LIC and other insurance companies will consider the letter issued with the cheques as proof of presumed death, which can be used by the next of kin for all purposes.  "For succession certificates, the process is a bit tedious", he added.

A large number of next of kin of Uttarakhand victims, present at the Aap Ki Adalat show, narrated the ordeals that they were going through, and Bahuguna promised them to take care of their concerns. He took down details of people missing from the grieving relatives.
