New Delhi/Gandhingar, Mar 25: The Central Bureau of investigation this evening trapped Additional Income Tax Commissioner of Gandhinagar C S Bharti (IRS: 1994 batch) while demanding and accepting Rs 30 lakh bribe for scrutinizing and assessing I-T return of a local construction firm.
CBI sources said, the bribe was delivered by a third party in Ahmedabad, “as arranged by a middleman on the instructions of the accused”.
The I-T assessment order was handed over to the complainant construction firm after it was confirmed that the bribe has been delivered. Searches by CBI sleuths are under way.
