    Delhi Police has released a statement: "In view of expected judgment by SC on Ayodhya matter, we are planning elaborate police arrangements and all precautionary measures will be taken. District DCPs & SHOs have been directed to raise police visibility and patrolling in communally sensitive areas."
     
    "Social media platforms will also be monitored and we advise that such platforms should be used with discretion. Users should restrain from spreading any unverified post. Sufficient police forces are being mobilized," Delhi Police said.

    Sensex tanks 330 pts as Moody's cuts India credit outlook

    Equity benchmark BSE Sensex tumbled 330 points on Friday, tracking losses in IT, FMCG, metal, and energy stocks after Moody's cut India's credit rating outlook citing growth concerns.

    Despite trading on a weak note though the day, the 30-share Sensex briefly turned positive to hit a fresh intra-day high of 40,749.33. It, however, pared all gains to end 330.13 points, or 0.81 percent lower at 40,323.61.

    Markets open lower: Sensex down 100 points, Nifty below 12,000

    Market benchmark BSE Sensex dropped over 100 points and the NSE Nifty slipped below the 12,000 mark on Friday after Moody's Investors Service lowered India's credit rating outlook citing concerns over the country's economic growth.

    The rupee also depreciated 30 paise against the US dollar to trade at 71.27 in early session.

    The 30-share index was trading 102.30 points, or 0.25 per cent, lower at 40,551.44.

    Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty slipped 28.25 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 11,983.80.
