8. Mumbai western railway elevated corridor
First proposed by then railway minister Laloo Prasad yadav in 2007, the corridor would link Oval Maidan with Virar.
It is proposed to run around the same lines as the Mumbai suburban railway.
It would be operational by 2020.
The project would have 26 stations of which 5 would be underground, 19 elevated and 2 at ground.
