A married woman was allegedly raped by a young man in Yunuspur village in Shamli district. The accused, Vishva Kumar has been arrested and a case registered against him, SHO Munesh Kumar of Pukhtaghari police station said.
According to the statement lodged by the victim's husband, the woman was waiting for a transport at a bus stand on Wednesday evening. The accused came on a bike and offered her a ride back to her village.
Instead, the man took her in a sugarcane field and raped the woman, police said. The victim has been sent for medical examination, they added.
