In Bihar, the sale of fish has been banned. The State Health Department has banned the sale of fish for the next 15 days.
At the moment, the ban is for Patna only.
Bihar Health Department's Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar said in a press conference on Monday that samples of fish for sale were examined and heavy metals like lead & cadmium were found.
"High amount of formalin was found in 7 out of 10 fish samples and heavy metals like lead & cadmium were found in all 10 samples of fish collected in Patna", Kumar said.
He said that this ban has been imposed only for 15 days in Patna, and after that the Health Department will take further decision.
