Here comes the news of another Bollywood remake. Amitabh Bachchan's 1984 blockbuster Sharaabi is all set to be remade by Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor. Produced by Abhishek Kapoor's wife Pragya Kapoor's production house Guy in the Sky Pictures and Bhushan Kumar’s T-series, the movie is about a dysfunctional alcoholic. Casting for the film is underway and as per a publication, makers want either Shahid Kapoor or Arjun Kapoor in the lead role.
As per Bollywood Hungama, both the actors are interested in the project, however, none of them have confirmed it. A source close to the project was quoted as saying, ''Arjun and Shahid have been approached for the role of the protagonist. Both actors have expressed interest in it but, neither have come on board yet for the film. The film is in the very initial stages and the makers are keen to have one of them in this role. The official announcement will be made once the modalities are completed.”
Director Abhishek Kapoor has earlier said, "Bhushanji and I have been talking of collaboration for quite some time now. We wanted it to be special. Sharaabi will be the right concoction of comedy, drama and music to build this association".
Meanwhile, Shahid is currently busy with Kabir Singh, remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. He will be seen opposite Kiara Advani in Sandeep Vanga's directorial, which is set to release on June 21 this year. On the other hand, Arjun is shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat. He will next be seen in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and India's Most Wanted.
