Mumbai, Sept 23: Bollywood ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are back together.  They will be seen together in Karan Johar's upcoming film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani to be directed by Ayan Mukerji, says a media report.

“ So hey... Ranbir and Deepika will be in Ayan Mukerji's next titled Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani !!! (sic),” Karan tweeted.

Ayan had been scouting a heroine opposite his buddy Ranbir for a while now. He tried convincing Katrina Kaif but she refused citing date problems and chose the Salman starrer Ek Tha Tiger.

Anushka Sharma's name also did the rounds, but ultimately Deepika agreed.

Ayan, who made his directorial debut with Wake Up Sid in 2009, plans to go on floor with his new film in January.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani , is slated for release in the second half of 2012.

A large part of the film will be shot in Delhi and on location in several parts of north India.

Ranbir's agreeing to do a new film with Deepika has raised eyebrows in Bollywood considering his dad Rishi Kapoor had openly expressed displeasure over certain jibes she took at the actor on Karan Johar's chat show earlier this year.

When asked what she would like to gift Ranbir, Deepika passed a snide remark saying she would love to give him a pack of condoms.

Ranbir and Deepika reportedly had an affair while filming Bachna Ae Haseeno back in 2008. They continued their ‘ affair' for the next couple of years till Ranbir met Katrina Kaif on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti — two films that were shot almost concurrently.
