Bollywood's ageing brigade will have to make room for the young guns.

According to a survey conducted by Eikona, a division of TAM (Television Audience Measurement) devoted to measuring PR and popularity, Ranbir Kapoor beats the formidable Khans of Bollywood, namely Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, in popularity.

In the survey conducted in four Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore, Ranbir emerged the most popular with 39 points out of 40.

The young star's popularity recently got a shot in the arm due to the nationwide publicity of his film Wake Up Sid and also the intensive promotion of his upcoming film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with Katrina Kaif

The second place is taken by Sanjay Dutt (with 37 points) thanks to his three releases Blue, All The Best and Aladin in a period of two weeks.

Shockingly, none of the Khans are in the top three.

Aamir bagged 25 points, followed by Salman (21). Shahrukh came 10th in the list and got only 4 points.

While the dip in the popularity of SRK and Aamir is understandable because none of their films has released this year, it's surprising to see Salman with meager 21 points despite his three releases Wanted, Main Aur Mrs Khanna and London Dreamsin quick succession.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is self effacing about his top slot. He says he doesn't know whether to be thankful or be apologetic for the honour.
