Panaji, Jun 2: A film city would come up in Goa in the next three years, the state government said today. "We are planning a film city in Goa. Last year we could not start the work because of the economic crisis faced by the state," said Vishnu Wagh, Vice Chairman, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), a state government agency.

Wagh was speaking at concluding ceremony of the 6th Goa Marathi Film Festival here this evening. "It is a commitment of ESG on behalf of Goa government that the state will have a film city within 3-4 years," he said, in the presence of Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar.

The objective was to turn Goa into a prime film production centre, he said. The three-day festival ended today with the premier of the film 'Postcard', directed by Gajendra Ahire.

National award winner and veteran actor Vikram Gokhle was amongst the several artists who were felicitated on the
concluding day.
