10 Bollywood film posters that are copied from Hollywood

Filmmaker Kabir Khan was quite busy last days with the promotion of his Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which turned out to be a super successful movie.But as he was so occupied for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, there had been speculations that his busy schedule might lead to the delay of his upcoming film ‘Phantom', which will release on August 28, 2015.But keeping the deadline in mind, director Kabir Khan has been fine tuning the film and the promos since early this week. And finally the team of ‘Phantom' has come out with two posters with the film.Kabir Khan released the poster of his upcoming movie ‘Phantom' on Twitter showing the rugged look of Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif respectively blindfolded with the Indian tricolour and the tagline reads 'A story you wish were true'.While ‘Phantom' is said to be a counter-terrorism drama, the posters of the film somehow resembles the poster of the Hollywood film ‘Homefront'. The poster of ‘Homefront' too displays a man who is blindfolded with a flag around his eyes and is as bruised and bloodied as Kat and Saif on Phantom's posters.However this is not the first time that the Bollywood posters have a striking resemblance with the posters Hollywood flicks.Checkout the list showing some Bollywood movies posters that were inspired by Hollywood posters:PK2014 blockbuster movie PK featuring Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan had ruled the charts breaking several box office records.But did you notice that the poster of the film, where Aamir is seen naked carrying a radio resembles the poster of an album of Portuguese musician Quim Barreiros' which was released in 1973.RoyThe makers of Roy that released in February this year, came out with a poster of the movie showing Ranbir Kapoor all suited up, holding a briefcase and a cigarette and facing the skyline.Ranbir's look in the poster looked quite similar to Christian Grey from '50 Shades of Grey'. Ek VillainIn 2014, Balaji Motion Pictures released a poster of their film ‘Ek Villain'starring Riteish Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra.However the poster seemed to be inspired from that of Travolta and Cage, while the only difference was placing Shraddha Kapoor in the center.BadlapurWith the release of his first movie, Varun Dhawan made an image of a ‘lover boy'.But the actor outgrew his 'lover boy' charms for Sriram Raghavan's ‘Badlapur' and this was quite visible in its loud poster.However there have been striking similarities between the poster of ‘Badlapur' to that of Hollywood movie ‘300'.Zindagi Na Milegi DobaraHelmed by Zoya Akhtar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara came in 2011 with a story of three friends being inseparable.The film featured the Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan along with Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.The poster of the film showed the three leads in a walking frame with Hrithik being shirtless. The poster had a striking resemblance with that of the movie Lords Of Dogtown, which came in 2005. Anjaana AnjaaniDirected by Siddharth Anand, the movie Anjaana Anjaani featuring Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor shared an uncanny resemblance with Nick Hornby's, 'An Education'.The interesting part is that both the movies were released in October 2010 just a week apart. RA.OneRA.One was Indian sci-fi film featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead.While the film was no less than a disaster, the poster did try to make an impact like a Hollywood film.The poster of RA.One featured King Khan holding up Bebo, which is just like the poster of the Hollywood flick Batman Begins.Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?Ashwni Dhir film, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? featured Ajay Devgn, Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal.The poster of the film shows Ajay and Konkona lying on a bed irritated with Paresh Rawal in the centre giving a mischievous smile.One can see an uncanny resemblance in the poster with that of ‘License to wed' featuring Robin Williams, Mandy Moore and John Krasinski.HulchulHulchul was a multi-starrer film starring Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Sunil Shetty, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor etc.While the film was a complete laughter riot, it was a remake of Malayalam film Godfather and so was its poster.The poster of Priyadarshan's Hulchul seemed to be inspired by the poster of Hollywood movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding'.MausamReleased in 2011, Mausam featured Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. The movie, which was written by did an average business. But the interesting part about the movie was its poster.The poster of the movie seems to be inspired the mega-blockbuster Titanic featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
