Ever since Salman Khan’s last release ‘Sultan’ was announced, there has been a constant comparison of the movie with that of Aamir Khans’s ‘Dangal’.
It was quite obvious, since both the movies are based on same subject wrestling.
But while ‘Dangal’ still has a couple of months to release, Salman’s ‘Sultan’ has already beaten Aamir Khan at the box office. But his time not for Aamir’s wrestling saga.
In fact, this time the competition was between ‘Sultan’ and Aamir’s ‘Dhoom 3’.
‘Sultan’ which is doing a commendable business at the box office has surpassed the lifetime earning of ‘D:3’ which was Rs 271.82 crore.
According to the recent tweet by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the total earnings of ‘Sultan’ so far have been Rs. 290.35 crores.

‘Sultan’ has now become the third highest Bollywood grosser ever. The first two positions are held by Aamir’s ‘PK’ and Salman’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, with a life collection of Rs. 340.80 crores and Rs. 320.34 crores, respectively.
Indeed, it is a great news for the makers of ‘Sultan’.
Only time will reveal, if this wrestling drama will be able to break the records of ‘PK’ in the near future.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Sultan’ also stars Anushka Sharma in the lead role.
