Bharat is Zafar's third collaboration with Salman

Ali Abbas Zafar has wrapped the first schedule of his next directorial Bharat. Starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, it is one of the most anticipated movies. Director Zafar shared that the team has shot two "dramatic action sequences" in Mumbai and now they are gearing up for the next schedule in Malta.

"First schedule of @Bharat_TheFilm completed in Mumbai, two dramatic action sequences done .... thanks you cast & crew ... Here we come Malta .. get ready for Desi rock n rolla," tweeted Zafar.

This movie is Zafar's third collaboration with Salman after the 2016 film Sultan and 2017 Tiger Zinda Hai. Both the movies were blockbuster and minted over Rs 300 crores. On a related note, Zafar's debut film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan had Katrina in the lead role. The duo then worked together in the sequel to Ek Tha Tiger.

After Priyanka Chopra walked out of the film, Katrina Kaif was roped in to play the female lead. There were several speculations regarding PeeCee quitting Bharat. Besides her engagement rumours which was triggered by Zafar's tweet, reports also claim that the actress was upset over pay differences and last minute addition the cast. On 26th July, Zafar took to Twitter to announce, ''Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life''.

Bharat also stars Tabu, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. The movie is a remake of the 2014 South Korean film Ode to My Father.
