Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn's latest release Raid has hit the jackpot and has turned out to be a winner at the Box Office. Critics and fans have liked the film and given it a big thumbs up and, now it is all set to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Raid stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role, and yet again the superstar has proved his might in pulling the crowd to the theatres.

“#Raid is nearing 100 cr mark... [Week 3] Fri 1.82 cr, Sat 2.26 cr. Total: ₹ 94.19 cr. India biz”, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Based on one of the most high-profile IT raids of the country, the film, explores the struggle of an honest officer against corrupt goons.

After the film's release, Kajol wrote proudly on Twitter, "My review of Raid:- Loved it. Laughed, clapped and wanted to take Amma home with me!"

If Kajol loved the film, Raid gave some gyaan to their son. She added, "Yugs review:- I learnt about income tax!"

While the film was criticised by some critics for the stretching out the plot a bit too far, the audience have been showering it with love. Let’s see if this continues for the weeks to come especially now that Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2 has hit the cinemas and, is winning box-records like a king.

Raid is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and is written by Ritesh Shah. The film features Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles and is reportedly inspired by the real-life I-T raids that were conducted by the officers of the Indian Revenue Service in the 1980s.
