The multi-talented and lovely Priyanka Chopra, who is now a global icon, has been away from Bollywood films for a while now. The actress was last seen in Bajirao Mastani in 2015 and, her fans are eagerly waiting for her big Bollywood comeback. Amid such anticipation, fresh reports say that PeeCee will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s venture. The film is a biopic based on the life of writer Amrita Pritam, the reports added.
Amrita Pritam was an Indian writer and poet, who wrote in Punjabi and Hindi. She is considered the first prominent woman Punjabi poet, novelist, and essayist, and the leading 20th-century poet of the Punjabi language, who is equally loved on both sides of the India-Pakistan border.
Priyanka has already amazed her fans with her performance in the biopic genre with Mary Kom, and with this film we are sure that the actress will set the standards even higher. It has been further reported that the Baywatch actress will be in India for a four-day trip to fulfil her work commitments.
The biopic is reportedly titled Gustakhiyaan and few Bollywood names such as Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan have been considered for the male lead. However, no official confirmation has been given by the makers.
“In all likelihood, Priyanka’s trip will culminate in the project being locked. An official announcement, however, will be made only after the male lead (for the part of legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi) is cast,” a report in Mid Day quoted a source saying.
Recently, Priyanka Chopra joined Wiz Khalifa and 11 other Hollywood A-listers for an ad campaign. The video is created with an intention to bridge the gaps between ages, cultural backgrounds, races, etc and spread the good vibes around. The one-minute video is titled ‘Sunny’ as jovial as it looks and is composed by Boney M, directed by Edward Enningful. Check out the video.
