Lucky to have PM like Narendra Modi: Preity Zinta on Centre's move to end VIP culture

The charming actress Preity Zinta recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting an end to VIP culture in India. She said that Modi’s intent to make difference to the lives of ordinary citizens will pay off.

The charming actress Preity Zinta recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting an end to VIP culture in India. Preity, who is all set to make her comeback with Bhaiyyaji Superhit, said that Modi’s intent to make difference to the lives of ordinary citizens will pay off. 

In an interview with PTI, the 42-year-old actress said, “Every person is important to our PM and he means it, we are lucky to have a prime minister who is not only thinking about taking the country forward, but he is also thinking about taking each citizen forward.”

On April 19, center issued an order to remove red beacons atop officials’ cars by May 1 as a step towards ending VIP culture prevalent in India. 

Referring to this, Narendra Modi in his 31st radio address Mann Ki Baat on Sunday said red beacon lights have become a symbol of VIP culture and that he realised exactly how big it was after banning them.

He said the idea of a ‘New India’ is a concept that promotes the idea of EPI (Every Person is Important) instead of VIP (Very Important Person).

The Kya Kehna actress also lauded other initiatives like Swachh Bharat and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaigns taken by the Modi-Led government. 

 

“I also like the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. As a woman, safety and education, these things are important. I am an army kid and it’s nice to see him (PM) talking about patriotism and our soldiers. I am happy,” she said.

When she was asked about her upcoming Bollywood projects,  the actor said, “My next film will release soon. I might be signing a new film also”. Preity Zinta is also working on a women’s safety project.

 

“I have the biggest project of my life, which is a big project on women’s safety, I have been working on it for five years and finally it’s going to come out this year, so I have my hands full,” she added.
