The trailer of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend is released today. The trailer is the cinematic adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat's book of the same title. Both Arjun and Shraddha are sharing screen space for the first time and needless to say, their chemistry is amazing. From their sizzling chemistry to some wonderful music, the movie looks promising.

Arjun plays the character of a Bihari boy named Madhav Jha in the film. The trailer begins with an introduction to Arjun and Shraddha’s characters – Madhav Jha and Riya Somani. The next scene takes you to a college interview where Arjun Kapoor aka Madhav Jha is being asked, in English, as to why he wants to join the college to which he prefers to reply in Hindi. Madhav is from a small town while Riya is a rich-city girl, quite an unlikely pair. However, when they meet each other, romance brews or so it seems. And even though they fall for each other, Riya just wants to be his Half Girlfriend. "Main tumhari girlfriend nahi half girlfriend hoon".

He agrees, but it’s not easy for Madhav. Here the trailer moves fast and we see a lot of pain, emotional scenes and heartbreak. Madhav is seen in a foreign country in search of Riya who he wants back desperately. Will he succeed, we will know on May 19, 2017, when the film releases.

Earlier today, Arjun Kapoor chatted live with his fans on Periscope. Movie buffs who were excited to see the star answering their questions, wished Arjun for the trailer of his film Half Girlfriend.

This is the fifth on-screen adaptation of a Chetan Bhagat novel. The film is a typical Bollywood potboiler - a love story, denial, pursuit and heartbreak and yes, a generous dose of romance coupled with Arijit Singh's songs.
