Shah Rukh Khan’s film Zero might have met with mixed response from the critics but the audience are totally in love with his character Bauua Singh. And why not? After all, SRK has first time played the role of a vertically-challenged role on the silverscreen. While talking to India TV, the superstar spilled beans on why he chose to do such a different role at this stage of his career. When asked why he chose to play Bauua on screen, he said, “I think it’s nothing special about being special. In fact, it’s special being ordinary. Not every one becomes a star. I’m fortunate that I’ve got the opportunity. I wanted to tell the story of an ordinary man not a larger-than-life hero. Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma decided to make the hero even lesser than normal. That’s how Zero came into being.”

Zero is a film where all the characters are incomplete in a way and yet they don’t feel sorry about their condition. Talking about the characters, Shah Rukh Khan said, “In many films I’ve seen they try to portray that a man is trying to save a woman. But I feel, no woman wants to be rescued. She just wants love, respect and equality. Tum kaun hote ho ladki ko bachane wale? All these things sabotage equality.”
Shah Rukh Khan was all praises for co-star Anushka Sharma for portraying the role of Aafia so finely. He believes that Anushka has played the toughest part in Zero. He also lauded Katrina Kaif’s courage to play that role on the screen.
Why Shah Rukh Khan's Zero is a special film
Katrina Kaif is playing the role of an alcoholic and heartbroken diva in Zero while Anushka Sharma is a scientist suffering from cerebral palsy. Released on 21 December, Zero has raked in Rs 20 crore on its opening day. The numbers are expected to rise on December 25 due to holiday.
