Akshay Kumar’s cop drama Sooryavanshi to go on floors from May
Rohit Shetty’s first collaboration with Akshay Kumar, Sooryavanshi is all set to go on floors from May this year. The actor, who is busy shooting for his Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Good News, will start working on the cop drama from the next month. "We will begin shooting for the film in the month of May. It's a long one year's journey before releasing the film," Shetty said. He also revealed that though Akshay Kumar is playing the male lead, the female lead has not been finalised.
"We will announce the female lead in next 2-3 days," Shetty said on the sideline of Hindustan Times Most Stylish Awards 2019 here on Friday.
Shetty is also producing an action-thriller web series.
"I think from January next year we will start shooting for it. It is being made on a big scale, that's why it is taking time. We have been writing it from the last two years."
Sooryavanshi is being produced by Karan Johar. The movie will release on Eid 2020, clashing with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer Inshallah. Rohit Shetty also announced that he is keen on making a cop drama based on a female police officer and he already has a script in his mind.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in Kesari, which is doing massively well at the box office. It has become the fastest film of 2019 to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
