Former Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been arrested in a multi-billion-rupee case related to the award of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract.
Former Pakistan premiers Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, along with prominent journalist for Dawn newspaper Cyril Almeida, appeared before the full bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday.
Abbasi had filed nominations for two seats- NA-53 Islamabad and NA-57 Rawalpindi. Initially, the election officials had rejected his nomination from Islamabad but accepted his bid from Rawalpindi.
