The case is likely to be heard on Tuesday by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal.
Ramesh claimed that eight per cent deaths during 2000-2015 were due to pollution-related ailments, but did not comment on the current pollution crisis in Delhi and the measures taken by the government to combat the effect.
The senior Congress leader also noted that "false news" was the biggest enterprise in "Make in India" under the Modi government, as he accused the BJP of "manufacturing" issues out of non-issues.
Jairam Ramesh had asked the environment ministry to restore the 2009 policy which had made adherence to the provision of the Forest Right Act 2006 a prerequisite for environment and forest clearance for projects in tribal areas of the country.
