Gus Atkinson is expected to fill the massive void that has been created by veteran fast bowler James Anderson's retirement. Anderson claimed 704 wickets in 188 Tests that he played during his career.
ICC revealed the Player of the Month nominees for July for both men and women. India have a total of three players being nominated among six, one in the men's category and two for the women. Washington Sundar, who was the Player of the Series in Zimbabwe, is the sole Indian male player nominated.
The ICC announced the Player of the Month nominees for December in both male and female categories with two Indians finding a place in the latter, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma for their performances in the England and Australia series. However, in the male category, no Indian was there.
