Meta is testing a new feature to further boost engagement on its Threads platform. The new feature will allow Instagram users to cross-post photos from Instagram to Threads. The feature is currently under testing and few users noticed the setting on their Instagram.

The company has confirmed the experiment and said that the cross-posting from Instagram to Threads is optional. Users can also opt to automatically share all new photo posts from Instagram to Threads as well. These settings are currently available to Instagram users who are part of the test.

A Threads user who goes by the name of Jonahmanzano wrote, “On my private account, using an Android device, I can see that the ability to post from Instagram to Threads is possible!”

Meanwhile, Threads has launched a monetization program for creators. This initiative offers thousands of dollars to creators who go viral. The program is currently invitation-only. Creators have the opportunity to earn money based on their posts' performance or the number of posts they have created.

According to the company's support page, invited creators will have individual requirements for bonuses. The program is currently limited to the US, but feedback can expand it to other regions. The company requires creators to make their profile public and follow Instagram's creator incentive terms and rules for bonuses.

To qualify for the bonus program, posts must receive at least 2,500 views. Moreover, Threads posts containing copyrighted material, no text, or boosted views will not be considered for bonuses. Also, the content shared should not have a watermark of another platform, such as TikTok or YouTube, and should not be a brand partnership post.

Creators can track their earnings on the professional dashboard and may need to earn a minimum amount to receive a payout. This program is currently in the testing phase and has a small-scale effort.
