Xiaomi announces its new flagship called the Xiaomi Mi 9. The phone comes with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and has a 90.7 per cent screen to body ratio with a 3.6mm chin at the bottom. The phone comes powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform backed with Game Turbo and real-time CPU/GPU/FPS monitoring with 8GB RAM. It runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 9.0 (Pie).
In terms of camera, the phone comes with a 48 Megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with Laser Autofocus, closed-loop Voice Coil Motor (VCM) for improved auto-focusing, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Contrast Detection Autofocus (CAF), 12 Megapixel Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto camera for 2x lossless zoom and a 16 Megapixel Sony IMX481 117-degree ultra-wide angle lens.
In terms of DxOMark, the camera sensor on the phone scores 112 points on photos and 99 on video. It gets an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, which is faster than the traditional sensors on other phones.
In terms of design, the phone gets dual layer nano-coating that offers unique colours when the light is reflected that also gets Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone gets a 3300mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging and is the world's first phone with 20W wireless fast charging.
The Mi 9 also comes with a 12GB RAM Transparent edition, which according to the company is the world’s first 12GB RAM phone that made it to mass production.
Xiaomi Mi 9 price
The Xiaomi Mi 9 price starts at 2999 yuan (Rs 31,725 approx.) for the 6GB RAM version with 128GB storage and 3299 yuan (Rs 34,900 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Limited Edition with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost 3999 yuan (Rs 42,300 approx.) and will be going on sale in China from 26th February.
