The Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 with 1GB RAM/8GB onboard memory backed with eSIM support for 4G and native voice calling, Bluetooth and WiFi.

Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone with eSIM, water-resistant body and flexible OLED display announced

Nubia, the Chinese smartphone maker had first teased the nubia-α at IFA 2018 in Berlin as the world's most advanced wearable smartphone. Interestingly, the device comes with the world’s first wearable smartphone that gets a wrap-around display.

Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone specifications

It comes with a 4.01-inch flexible OLED display from Visionox that makes the device up to 230 per cent larger than standard wearable displays.

According to the company, the device gets a wrap-around screen that has a Panoramic aspect ratio for an immersive and complete experience and is made of 11layers that makes it more vibrant and durable over time. The nubia Alpha comes with a flexible display coated in a strong heat-resistant Polyimide with a water-resistant body.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 that has 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard memory backed with eSIM support for 4G and native voice calling in addition to Bluetooth and WiFi. One can also use a built-in speaker and microphone or use a Bluetooth headset to attend calls.

In terms of the camera it comes with a 5 Megapixel camera with 82-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. The nubia Alpha comes with a clever UI shortcut in which one can take a picture just by tapping on the screen and long pressing to record videos.

It gets other features like health and exercise assistant, sleep and run tracking with music playback along with the heart rate sensor at the back that packs 500mAh battery, which delivers 1-2 days of battery on usage and a standby time of a week. The device gets a stainless steel body and comes in Gold and Black, wherein the Gold version feature 18k gold plated band.

Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone price

The nubia Alpha price is 449 Euros (Rs 36,210 approx.) for the standard version and comes in black and gold colours. The 4G eSIM version, on the other hand, costs 549 Euros (Rs 44,275 approx.), while the 4G eSIM Gold version costs 649 Euros (Rs 52,340 approx.). It will first be going on sale in China in April followed with the European launch and Noth America in Q4 2019.
