Switzerland, Jun 20: The IOC has postponed the ticket sales process for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi in the wake of corruption allegations involving black market tickets for the London Olympics.
The IOC says it has asked Russian organizers to “temporarily delay the planning for its international ticketing program while we review the situation.”
The IOC says the delay is “purely precautionary.”
The moves follow allegations in Britain's Sunday Times newspaper that Olympic officials and ticket agents in several countries were willing to offer London tickets for sale on the black market at inflated prices.
