Colombo, Jun 21 : An official says Sri Lanka's cricket authorities will travel to India hoping to convince the cricket board there to allow its players to take part in a new Twenty20 league.

Sri Lanka Cricket media manager Brian Thomas says his chairman Somachandra de Silva and secretary Nishantha Ranatunga could travel to India Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Indian cricket board has banned its players from taking part in the inaugural Sri Lankan Premier League, claiming it was being run by a private company. AP
