Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won his first toss of the series and elected to bat against Pakistan in the fourth one-day international on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board went ahead with the match a day after 142 people were killed — most of them children — by the Taliban at a military-run school in the northwest city of Peshawar.

The PCB said in a statement it initially tried to postpone the match, but said "if we allow terrorists to disrupt our matches abroad, then all will be lost."

The board also said it will donate all of the match proceeds to the families of the martyred, and toward rebuilding the school.

Captain Shahid Afridi said his prayers were with the families of the school children and teachers killed in Peshawar.

"That was a big tragedy, we are playing for them, and we are trying to back each other," Afridi said.

Pakistan, which leads the series 2-1, brought in opening batsman Nasir Jamshed after a year out of ODIs in place of Asad Shafiq, and fast bowler Anwar Ali, who replaced Wahab Riaz.

New Zealand continued with its rotation policy, and made three changes, bringing back opening batsman Dean Brownlie, Daniel Vettori and Adam Milne in place of Anton Devcich, James Neesham and Nathan McCullum.

Lineups:

Pakistan: Shahid Afridi (captain), Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Umar Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmed, Sohail Tanvir, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Irfan.

New Zealand: Kane Williamson (captain), Martin Guptill, Dean Brownlie, Ross Taylor, Tom Latham, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi, Daniel Vettori, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Mitchell McClenaghan.
