Dilshan made his Test debut in November 1999, in a series against Zimbabwe, and has been a familar presence in the Sri Lanka team since.
Dilshan's last Test appearance was against Bangladesh in March in Colombo.
However he will continue to play and perform his 'Dilscoop' in shorter forms of the game.
