Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has purchased a 450 sq. meter plot in Hajipur to build a house, a newspaper report has said. The registration of the property deed was done in a hush-hush manner on Monday evening at around 7.15 pm as Dhoni came to the Registrar office in Noida Sector-33 to complete the formalities. The entire formalities were completed in less than half an hour.
The value of the property has been shown as Rs 18 lakhs, on which Rs 1.25 lakh stamp duty has been paid to the government, sources said. Dhoni is reported to have purchased the farm land in Hajipur from a farmer named Bhoja at Rs 4,000 per sq. Yard.
With this purchase, Dhoni has joined the list of celebrities who have made Noida their home. These celebrities include cricketers Ajay Jadeja, R P Singh, retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi, actor Sonal Chauhan and former Chief Justice of India V N Khare.
