Most wickets for India WTC history, Jasprit Bumrah not on top
Indian bowlers have helped the team win Test matches at home and away from it. From Mohammed Shami to Jasprit Bumrah, here is a list of five Indian bowlers to have taken most wickets in the history of the World Test Championship.
5 - Mohammed Shami: Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has been one of the go-to bowlers for India in Test cricket over the past few years. While he has not played a Test for India in more than two years, he is still one of the leading wicket-takers for India in the history of the World Test Championship. Shami has taken 85 wickets in 45 innings in the Test championship.

4 - Mohammed Siraj: Star bowler Mohammed Siraj is another go-to bowler for India. He has put in the hard yards and bowls with all his heart in Test cricket. Since making his debut in late 2020, Siraj has taken 130 wickets in 78 innings with five five-wicket hauls and eight four-wicket hauls.

3 - Ravindra Jadeja: Star all-rounder Jadeja has been an indispensable part of the Indian Test team. Jadeja has contributed with both bat and ball. He has taken 142 wickets in the WTC history in 83 innings with six fifers and eight four-wicket hauls.

2 - Jasprit Bumrah: Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is a bowler of a rare species, having won matches single-handedly for India. Bumrah has been committed to Test cricket despite managing his workload due to his back issue, as he played both the Test matches against the West Indies. Bumrah has taken 173 wickets in 73 innings in the WTC with 12 fifers.

1 - Ravichandran Ashwin: The now-retired star Ravichandran Ashwin was another big match-winner for India in the Test format. Ashwin hung up his boots from international cricket in late 2024 during the Border-Gavaskar series. Ashwin has taken 195 wickets in 78 innings in the WTC history with 11 fifers to his name.
