4 players to play in both PSL 2025 and IPL 2025

The IPL and PSL run concurrently for the first time and hence, didn't give the opportunity to the players to feature in both tournaments. However, the India-Pakistan tensions, the subsequent suspension and resumption of both the competitions gave the players a chance to take a punt in both.

Mitch Owen, who has become the newest blue-eyed boy on the franchise circuit, was picked by the Peshawar Zalmi as a replacement player for PSL 2025. With Glenn Maxwell getting ruled out, Punjab Kings signed Owen as a replacement, who would have joined the side after completing his PSL stint. However, with the tournament suspension, Owen joined early and made his debut against the Rajasthan Royals.

Mitch Owen, who has become the newest blue-eyed boy on the franchise circuit, was picked by the Peshawar Zalmi as a replacement player for PSL 2025. With Glenn Maxwell getting ruled out, Punjab Kings signed Owen as a replacement, who would have joined the side after completing his PSL stint. However, with the tournament suspension, Owen joined early and made his debut against the Rajasthan Royals.
Kusal Mendis was the first temporary replacement signed on for IPL 2025 playoffs, by the Gujarat Titans. With Jos Buttler leaving, GT needed a keeper-batter who bats in the top three and Mendis fit the bill. Mendis declined to return to the PSL for the Gladiators.

Kyle Jamieson, who played for the Quetta Gladiators in this year's PSL, joined Punjab Kings as fellow Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson's replacement for the rest of the IPL season. Jamieson will fill the hole left by Marco Jansen's absence during the playoffs.
