Only airport in India connected to 150 destinations
Over the years, the airport has added more than 20 unique international destinations, including Phnom Penh, Bali Denpasar, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington Dulles, Chicago O'Hare and Tokyo Haneda.
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi Airport) has become the only airport in the country that provides connectivity to 150 destinations.

The direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK) of the Thai AirAsia X is the latest addition, marking the 150th destination connected to Delhi airport. The new route will operate twice a week with Airbus A330 aircraft. The airline is also planning to increase the frequency from twice to four times by mid-January 2025.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the company that operates Delhi Airport, said that in the last few years, the airport has connected more than 20 specific international destinations, including Phnom Penh, Bali Denpasar, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington Dulles, Chicago O'Hare and Tokyo Haneda.

In the last 10 years, the airport has experienced 100 per cent growth in transfer passengers, further strengthening its position as a leading transit center in South Asia. The airport handles around 1,400 flight movements daily.

Of all the long-haul destinations from India, 88 per cent of destinations are connected from Delhi and 56 per cent of all long-haul weekly flights departing from India, operate from Delhi. Almost 50 per cent (42 per cent to be precise) of long-haul passengers from India chose Delhi airport as their gateway.

Delhi airport has three terminals -- T1, T2 and T3 -- and handles around 1,400 flights daily. From August 17, DIAL started operating the new T1. The old T1 has been shut from June 28 following the roof collapse incident.
