At least one person died and eight others were injured when a 50 year old dilapidated building collapse on Mumbai dockyard road early Friday morning.

There were 25 families staying inside the building. Four families have been evacuated so far, while 20 to 21 persons are reported to be still trapped inside the rubble.

The building named Babu Genu Mandai was in a dangerous condition, but was not in the list of BMC's endangered buildings. On the ground floor was a godown.
