Islamabad, Jul 26 : Veteran PPP politician Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, was today elected “prime minister” of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir after elections that were held last month.
Majeed, who will be the 11 “Prime Minister” of PoK was voted in by newly elected members of the “legislative Assembly” of PoK.
Majeed secured 35 votes as against 11 of Raja Farooq Haider Khan of PML-N after Muslim Conference and MQM legislators also voted for the PPP candidate, Express Tribune reported.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani congratulated Majeed on being elected prime minister. PTI
