Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today rejected BJP's allegations of favouritism in land deals of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra in the state.

Gehlot said the allegations of BJP that Vadra was favoured by the erstwhile Congress government in land purchase in the state was “baseless” and added that a probe headed by a high court judge can be ordered by the government to look into the allegations and also for looking into land deals of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's son Dushyant Singh.

“The government should probe the matter to ascertain the truth and should also investigate land deals of Raje's son Dushyant to make things clear,” Gehlot told reporters after visiting former MLA Gurusharan Chabra at the SMS Hospital here.

Chabra is on a hunger strike demanding complete ban on liquor in the state. Gehlot earlier met Governor Margaret Alva to request her intervention to convince Chabra to end his hunger strike. He alleged that no representative of the Raje government had visited Chabra who is on strike for a social cause.
