New Delhi: Special VIP numbers for vehicles in Delhi will now be e-auctioned and minimum of 5 lakh will have to be submitted for keeping such numbers. Lt Governor Najeeb Jung Thursday inaugurated the facility of auction of Registration Mark of Choice for four Wheeled Vehicles in Delhi.
Initially about 140 Registration Mark of Choice will be put to e-auction in the first round. The e-auction will be conducted by the Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) on behalf of the Transport Department Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Earlier questions were raised on the VIP numbers being reserved for the politicians, bureaucrats and judges. But now, they are open for anyone residing in Delhi who is willing to spend 5 lakhs to obtain it.
