Chennai, Jul 14: Tamil superstar Rajnikanth today enquired about jailed DMK MP Kanimozhi, with her father and DMK president M Karunanidhi.
In a telephonic conversation the DMK patriarch had with Rajnikanth, who returned home last night from Singapore after undergoing treatment for reported kidney-related ailments, Karunanidhi enquired about the actor's health and the medical treatment he had underwent.
‘Rajni thanked Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) and enquired about his health and about Kanimozhi's well-being,' a DMK press release here said.
Accused in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam, DMK's Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi has been lodged in Tihar jail. After visiting her, Karunanidhi had lamented that she was shut in the prison in an ‘inhuman manner' and that she was suffering from blisters and swelling on her body.
Karunanidhi had also spoken to Rajni when he was undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital. PTI
