Mukul Roy silent on Kunal's allegations
Kolkata : Trinamool Congress all-India General Secretary Mukul Roy yesterday said he would not comment on the allegation by suspended party MP Kunal Ghosh that he was being made a scapegoat in the Saradha scam,
Ghosh headed the media business of Saradha Group, a number of newspapers and news channels which abruptly closed down in April after the scam came to light. Saradha Group chairman Sudipta Sen was arrested in April from Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir where he had fled with two senior company officials.
The Enforcement Directorate has estimated the scam amounted to around Rs 2,300 crore.
Ghosh, who was once close to party supremo Mamata Banerjee, has been interrogated by the Bidhannagar Police and Central agencies, Serious Fraud Investigation Office and the ED.
