By arresting Abbas Kureshi, the Delhi police has not only foiled the deadly terror attacks planned for the national capital but also caught the nerve of increasing terror disturbances in the country in the recent past.
Reportedly, the Installation point, US Consulate in Chennai, Israel Consulate in Bangalore and Navy Hub of Vishakhapatnam were on the “target” of Lashkar. The group was panning to use Sri Lankan sea route as well as air route of Nepal and Maldives to execute its terror plans.
In 2007, Abdul Sami, who was arrested by N.I.A from Karnatka, had first revealed internal information about Kadir to the police. After which the police had kept a strict vigil on this king pin and finally arrested him from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan on the evening of 20th July.
Delhi police is now investigating the contacts of Abdul Kureshi which probably would trigger more arrests in the coming days.
