Mandi (HP): A massive landslide triggered in Barnala area of Mandi district blocked a mountain river, Uhl, causing the water to form 3 km long lake that threatens to burst and sweep several villages.
The administration, while taking a serious note of this incident, vacated 25 families from the nearby areas of the lake. They have been shifted to Senior Secondary School or IIT campus.
Locals said that they heard a loud sound at the time of the incident and saw huge debris crashing down.
Officials said that it had been raining heavily for the past few days in the region.
The entire area is blocked by the rocks and debris. No injuries were reported in the incident.
