Kejriwal given 7 days time to prove majority
New Delhi: Delhi's chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal has been given seven days time to prove his majority in the assembly. The assembly may be convened from January 1, sources said.Following is the President's communique:The President
The President of India has been pleased to appoint Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Leader of the Aam Aadmi Legislature Party as Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date he is sworn in.
The President has directed that Shri Kejriwal may be asked to prove his majority on the floor of the House within seven days from the date on which he takes oath of office.
The President has been also pleased to appoint on the advice of the Chief Minister (designate): -
1). Shri Manish Sisodia;
2) Shri Somnath Bharti;
3) Shri Satyender Kumar Jain;
4) Ms Rakhi Birla;
5) Shri Girish Soni; and
6) Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj.
to be the Ministers in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, with effect from the date(s) they are sworn in.
The Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers shall be sworn in on December 28, 2013 at 12 pm in Ramlila Ground.
