Jammu and Kashmir Governor designate, Satya Pal Malik arrived in Srinagar, on Wednesday. He will take oath as the 13th Governor of the state on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Malik was shifted to J&K as the new Governor of the state. He will replace N N Vohra, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique.

Malik's transfer to the state comes after the withdrawal of support by the BJP to the PDP government headed by Mehbooba Mufti a few months ago. To fill in the place of President Ram Nath Kovind after his election to the top post, Malik was appointed the Bihar Governor last year.

Lalji Tandon has been appointed as the new Governor of Bihar.

"The trust shown in me by the PM...I'll try to make a contribution to the development of Bihar. I'll play the role of a guardian to the state government. Nitish ji is an old friend of mine, I don't think we'll have any problem between us," ANI quoted Tandon as saying.

Satyadev Narayan Arya has been appointed as the Governor of Haryana and in Uttarakhand, Baby Rani Maurya has been appointed as the Governor.

The Governor of Haryana, Kaptan Singh Solanki, has been transferred to Tripura and Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy has been transferred to Meghalaya, it said. Ganga Prasad, the Governor of Meghalaya, has been transferred to Sikkim, communique said.
