Gaya: Son of ruling Janata Dal (United)’s MLC Manorama Devi, Racky Yadav, is still on the run, two days after he killed a 19-year-old boy in the Gaya town. Police said that they are unaware about the whereabouts of Rocky and hunt is on to nab the accused.

Aditya Sachdeva, a businessman's son who had recently given his Class 12 exams, was in his Swift car with his friends when he overtook the Range Rover of Rocky. Aditya's friend, who was with him in the car, told the police that soon after they overtook the SUV, Rocky and the guard started firing in the air to stop them. “They assaulted my friends, fired shots because of which my friend died,” he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded resignation of CM Nitish Kumar for his failure to check the rising criminal incidents in the state.

“If the CM can’t control the crime committed by the legislators and relatives of MLAs and MLCs of the ruling Grand Alliance (GA), then how can he think of improving the deteriorating law and order situation in the state?” state BJP president Mangal Pandey said.

“Now nobody can deny the fact that trigger-happy people associated with ruling party legislators have a field day in Bihar and the innocent people are at the receiving end,” Pandey added.

Senior party leader Sushil Kumar Modi said the incident had thoroughly exposed Kumar’s claim that there was rule of law in the state.

Yesterday, police arrested accused's father Bindi Yadav and a bodyguard. During the interrogation, Bindi claimed that during the scuffle, his son took out his licensed pistol in defence, but the trigger accidentally went off.
