Complete details of building collapses in India over past two months

Several buildings collapsed in the past two months due to heavy rains which affected the poor condition of the buildings affecting dozens of lives.

August 26, Ahmedabad: Two building blocks of Ahmedabad's Odhav locality constructed under a government housing scheme nearly two decades ago collapsed during the night. One died and four were rescued by National Disaster Response force (NDRF).

August 5, Bhiwandi: A portion of two-storey building collapsed in Bhiwandi on the outskirts of Mumbai. An elderly couple include a family of six members died in the accident. Building was in a dilapidated condition.

August 3, Lucknow: A three-storey building collapsed in Ganeshganj area of Lucknow. The reason behind collapse was heavy rains for the past few days.

August 1, Kanpur: Two people were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The reason suspected was heavy rains as it took dozens of lives in Uttar Pradesh during the month of July.

July 27, Noida: Three-storey building collapsed due to heavy rains in Noida sec-121. Construction of basement was going on the adjacent plot. The collapse added to the miseries of the reidents already facing grim situation due to heavy rains.

July 27, Ghaziabad: A five-storey building collapsed in Khoda colony in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The building had a showroom which was closed down due to the poor condition of the walls, the officials said that the building was 8-10 years old. 

July 27, Saharanpur: A family of six members including an infant died in  a building collapse in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The reason behind collapse was declared incessant rains in the state. The collapse was reported by the neighbours late in the night after they woke up to a sound of loud thud.

July 22, Ghaziabad: A five-storey building collapsed in Mishal Garhi, Dasna area of Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. The reason behind the collapse was poor construction and heavy rains. 

July 17, Noida: A six-storey under-construction building fell on adjacent building in Noida's Shahberi village, Uttar Pradesh. The second building also collapsed under the impact. After the collapse a case was registered against 74 builders for allegedly constructing 58 illegal buildings in the village under Bisrakh police statiion. 

August 1, Kanpur: Two people were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.The reason suspected was heavy rains as it took dozens of lives in Uttar Pradesh in the month of July.

April 1, Indore: A four-storey hotel building collapsed near Sarwate Bus Stand in Indore. At least 10 died and many were injured after the collapse and were offered compensation by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The building collapsed soon after a car rammed into the walls of the hotel.
