CBSE Class X results declared, pass percentage down

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today announced the results of Class X board examinations.

The pass percentage of students has fallen marginally to 96.21 as compared to 97.32 in 2015.

Girls have performed better than boys. Pass percentage of girls is 96.36 as compared to that of boys which is 96.11.

The overall pass percentage of Thiruvanathapuram region is 99.87 which is the highest as compared to other regions.

Students who opted for board-based scheme appeared for the examination between March 1 and March 28 and those who opted for school-based examination took the papers from March 10 onwards.

Around 70 per cent of the students have opted for the school-based exam. Delhi has the largest number of of candidates with 2,91,371 in total.

A total of 14,91,293 candidates were registered for Class X examination, an increase of about 8.5 per cent candidates over last year.

Category wise, the Central Government run Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalayas have scored a pass percentage of 98.87 per cent followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas which have a pass percentage of 98.85 per cent.

Independent schools have a pass percentage of 97.72 per cent while government schools recorded a pass percentage of 86.61 per cent.

According to data shared by CBSE, 85.62 percent students of government-aided schools cleared the exam.
