Gujarat: Over 40 passengers injured as state transport bus overturns in Surendranagar

A road accident in the vicinity of Wana village in Lakhtar taluka resulted in injuries to approximately 40 individuals on Sunday night when a state transport (ST) bus overturned. According to local officials, the bus was en route from Deodar to Junagadh. Jagdish Makwana, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), provided details about the incident, stating, "An ST bus traveling from Deodar to Junagadh overturned near Wana village. Out of the 55 to 60 passengers on board, approximately 40 sustained injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital. Two passengers are reported to be in critical condition."

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are yet to be determined, and further details are awaited as authorities investigate the incident.

In a separate incident, seven individuals tragically lost their lives when a car collided with a truck in Chengam, located in the Thiruvannamalai District of Tamil Nadu on Sunday morning.

Upon receiving information about the collision, the police swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Injured victims received immediate medical attention and were admitted to a nearby hospital.

Chengam Police have initiated an investigation into the accident, and further details are anticipated as the inquiry unfolds.

Road accidents remain a concern, and authorities continuously work to enhance road safety measures to mitigate such incidents and their subsequent impact on public safety.
