7. Magnolia-After the spectacular success of 'Boogie Nights', Tom Cruise was seen in the movie directed by Paul Thomas called Mangolia.

The movie was a huge success at the box office. Sleazy "self-help" guru Frank Mackey was the perfect way for Cruise to prove his acting skills.

Though the movie doesn't rest on his performance, his work here still won praise from a number of critics.

8. Mission
: Impossible Ghost Protocol-Fourth installments Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol came five years after the third movie in the series, and it was helmed by a guy mostly known for directing cartoons, the odds weren't exactly stacked in its favor.

Ghost Protocol ended up being not only a hit with critics as well as audiences, it racked up the highest collection whopping $693 million worldwide gross.

9.  Minority
Report- Originally conceived as a sequel to the 'Total Recall', 'Minority Report' endured years of developmental twists and turns including the loss of a supporting cast that originally would have included Meryl Streep, Matt Damon, and Cate Blanchett before finally landing in theaters in 2002.

The movie lacked much essence but Tom Cruise managed to make his fans happy with his acting skills and charm.

Despite  the fact that movie was not so successful in terms of collection; the movie comes under Cruise most successful movies.

10. Risky Business- It wasn't his first movie, but for most of us, 'Risky Business' is Ground Zero for Tom Cruise's superstardom.

It's been lumped in with the many teen comedies of the decade, but 'Risky Business' has a much darker heart than most.

You can see a young innocent 20 year old Tom dancing in his underwear's after his parent's are out for a trip in the movie.
